'Saltwater' is inspired by our coastline and the beauty of our beaches. The flowing and intricate details within the ocean design reflect the vastness of our oceans and the range of life they sustain. For thousands of generations our coastline has been a place for communities to gather and come together. It has provided for us and continues to do so. It is vital we do the same - look after and respect our beaches to ensure their beauty can be enjoyed by the future generations.
The pathway across the top of the painting illustrates the journey of each individual and how being beside 'Saltwater' can be healing and create a sense of calm. The large circles reflect our Ancestors who cared for the land and whose knowledge is held within the land, our culture and our stories. The intricate dots in the background represent the grains of sand, each coming together to create a place of immense beauty.
